Kyogle High School Uniform Requirements
Kyogle High School is a uniform school and the uniform is worn with pride. The Kyogle High School uniform has been developed as a result of consultation with parents, students and teachers. It is endorsed each year by the school P&C.
Kyogle High School has high expectations of our students. We expect our students to participate actively in the academic, cultural, social and sporting dimensions of school. One important part of this successful participation includes wearing school uniform. As per the DET Core Rules;
"All students in NSW government schools are expected to:
Maintain a neat appearance, including adhering to the requirements of the school's uniform or dress code policy."
Our school community strongly believes that the wearing of school uniform helps promote a positive image of the school in the wider community. It helps promote cohesion and a sense of belonging to the school community. Student welfare is enhanced with all students being dressed in school uniform. We are able to more readily identify intruders on the school site if all students are wearing school uniform, and our students are more easily able to be supervised on school excursions.
PE Lessons and SPORT
The sport uniform will be worn to school on sport days.
All students must change for PE lessons for hygiene reasons.
- Black school sports shorts with piping and school initials
- Green school polo with embroidered emblem
- Suitable footwear
Note
Substantial footwear, consisting of solid sole and firm uppers, MUST be worn at all times in work areas in Industrial Arts, Food Technology, and Science Laboratories and in practical lessons in Art and Agriculture. Thongs, open sandals, sandshoes and similar do not offer enough protection and are NOT permitted. This is due to Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.
Sun Hat Policy
Kyogle School encourages students to wear a hat for all outdoor activities.
If you cannot wear correct school uniform
Students who cannot wear school uniform due to an unavoidable situation are required to bring a note of explanation from home on the day and hand it to their START teacher. They should dress in clothes that are similar in appearance to school uniform. This should only occur on rare occasions and should not be a regular occurrence.
Students who attend school not wearing school uniform will be recorded on ACADEMY. At the end of a fortnight a letter will be sent home to those students who have been out of uniform more than once.
The school can provide financial assistance to families to help cover the cost of uniform. Requests for support should be made to either the Deputy Principal, Principal or through your Year Advisor.
The P&C runs a uniform shop from school. It is open every Wednesday morning from 8.30am -9.30am OR during the last week of the summer holidays.
